Osteoporosis is a disease that affects bones characterized by low bone mass and micro-architectural deterioration. Osteoporosis is an important public health concern, and early diagnosis and treatment indication is a key to effective intervention.
The goal of this project is to develop accurate diagnostic techniques based on the bone micro-architecture. We are studying the effect of osteoporosis on thethe bone architecture, and aim at providing additional information beyond the current state of the art: the measurement of bone mineral density.
