Bettina Roethlin is a Research Affiliate at the Computational Imaging Research Lab (CIR) at the Medical University of Vienna. Her work revolves around developing deep learning methods for early breast cancer detection in MRI, with a focus on predicting short-term lesion emergence in high-risk patients. She completed her MSc in Data Science at TU Wien, where she conducted her Master's thesis at CIR, developing deep learning-based methods to identify breast tissue at risk of developing suspicious lesions in DCE-MRI. This work was awarded the ASAI Master Thesis Award 2025 by the Austrian Society for Artificial Intelligence. She also holds a BSc in Mathematics with Economics from University College London (UCL) and an MSc in Environmental Technology and International Affairs. In parallel, she works in AI R&D in the private sector, focusing on ultrasound imaging applications.
