An international expert and industry panel on the topic of agentic AI, its translation to clinical reality, and the position of Europe in the international competition.
Medical AI is shifting from systems that classify to systems that act — that plan, retrieve, and reason across a patient's record. The question is no longer whether a model can match expert performance on a benchmark, but what happens when it is embedded in the everyday work of care.
Ben Glocker (Chair in Safe Deployment of Medical Imaging AI, Imperial College London) opens with an impulse talk on generative AI as part of clinical reasoning. He is then joined by Bianca Gerendas (Department of Ophthalmology, MedUni Wien) and representatives from industrial R&D — Hr. Prof. Dr. med. F.-Michael Dahlweid (Chief Strategy Officer, Dedalus HealthCare), Dr. Heinrich von Busch (Innovation Owner AI for Imaging / Principal Key Expert, Siemens Healthineers), and Dr Robert Deisz, Chief Medical Officer Intensive Care-Market DACH at Philips — moderated by Siegfried Meryn (Future Health Lab), to discuss what actually changes when agents enter real-world care: how disciplines and workflows get redrawn, whether the path from trial evidence to routine treatment gets shorter, and what is still holding it up.
